Eight Physicians From Stanford Medicine Children’s Health to Be Recognized as Members of the American Pediatric Society

The American Pediatric Society has announced that eight physicians from Stanford Medicine Children’s Health will be recognized as new APS members in 2023.

Each year, the society’s current members appoint new members who are leaders in child health, honoring their work to build the future of academic pediatrics. The new members will be acknowledged during the APS Presidential Plenary on April 29 at the Pediatric Academic Societies 2023 Meeting.

The physicians from Stanford Medicine Children’s Health being recognized are as follows:

• Cristina Alvira, MD, associate professor of pediatrics and the Crandall Endowed Faculty Scholar in Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine
• Tandy Aye, MD, professor of pediatrics
• Anne Dubin, MD, chief of the Division of Pediatric Cardiology, director of the Betty Irene Moore Children’s Heart Center, and professor of pediatrics
• Tanja Gruber, MD, chief of Pediatric Hematology, Oncology and Stem Cell Transplantation and the Chambers Family Endowed Professor for Pediatric Cancer
• Lawrence Prince, MD, PhD, chief of the Division of Neonatal and Developmental Medicine and the Philip Sunshine, MD, Professor of Neonatology
• Jochen Profit, MD, professor of pediatrics
• Michael Rosen, MD, director of the Center for Pediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) and Celiac Disease, Stanford University, and the Stanford University Endowed Professor for Pediatric IBD and Celiac Disease
• Scott Sutherland, MD, chief of the Division of Pediatric Nephrology and clinical professor of pediatrics

Congratulations to Drs. Alvira, Aye, Dubin, Gruber, Prince, Profit, Rosen, and Sutherland. They are part of a larger group of 95 pediatricians from across North America to be so honored. Stanford Medicine has more physicians being inducted into the American Pediatric Society in 2023 than any other institution.
