REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — Sequoia Hospital recently celebrated 10 years of an important and life-saving community partnership with Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford (LPCH).
The Lucile Packard Special Care Nursery is a six-bed, level II neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) located within the Sequoia Hospital Birth Center and staffed by doctors and nurses from Packard Children’s neonatology team, which is ranked #5 in the nation by U.S. News. This level II designation means Sequoia has the expertise and equipment to care for and stabilize high-risk newborns. “Our partnership with the Lucile Packard Special Care Nursery ensures that the highest quality care is delivered to our high-risk and premature babies,” said Jennifer Doran, manager of perinatal services. “Sequoia is proud to work with doctors and moms who value the highest quality care in a technically advanced hospital, with personal service, private rooms, and the excellent care that every family deserves,” said Linda Kresge, RN, Chief Nursing Officer at Sequoia Hospital.
“Our care team has been really pleased to be a part of the perinatal program at Sequoia Hospital over the last ten years,” said William Benitz, MD, division chief of neonatology at Packard Children’s. “Extending the scope of our NICU services to the Sequoia community has been life-saving for many newborns, and we look forward to continuing this important relationship.”
