Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford Board of Directors Welcomes Three New Members

Palo Alto, Calif. - Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford is pleased to welcome Jorge Titinger, Frank Lee and Joel Podolny to its Board of Directors, each chosen for their exceptional leadership, accomplishments and vision.

Jorge Titinger joined the Packard Children’s Board in January of this year. He is currently President and Chief Executive Officer of Silicon Graphics International Corp (SGI). Prior to his tenure at SGI, Titinger served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Verigy Ltd. from January 2011 to July 2011, and as President and Chief Operating Officer from July 2010 to January 2011. Titinger’s personal career includes executive positions at FormFactor, Inc., KLA-Tencor Corporation, and Applied Materials, Inc., as well as at Hewlett-Packard Company and MIPS Computer Systems, Inc.

The Board also welcomes Frank Lee, PhD, Chief Executive Officer of Dragonfly Sciences – a biopharmaceutical company that he founded in 2005, with headquarters in the U.S. and in China. Prior to Dragonfly, he was a founder, chairman, and CEO of Adnexus Therapeutics, which develops next generation biotherapeutics. Over the course of his career, Lee has held several leadership roles, including the Chief Executive Officer at engenOS; the chief technology officer role at Millennium Pharmaceuticals; and director of molecular biology research at DNAX/Schering-Plough. In addition, Lee has been an advisor to several government and nonprofit institutions, including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the National Institutes of Health and the government of Taiwan. He is currently a trustee of Stanford University, and joined the Packard Children’s Board in January. 

Joel Podolny, PhD, -- vice president of Apple’s human resources department and the dean of Apple University -- joins the Board this month; he has been with Apple since 2009. Prior to Apple, he was a professor and dean of the Yale School of Management from 2005 to 2008, and has also held various positions at Harvard University, including professor and director of research at Harvard Business School and professor of sociology in the Harvard Faculty of Arts and Sciences from 2002 to 2005. In addition, Podolny has been on the faculty of the Stanford Graduate School of Business, served on the board of advisors of Greenwich Associates, on the technical advisory board of Spoke Software, and on the board of National Arts Strategies.
