STANFORD, Calif. – On Monday, October 14, Stanford Medicine Children’s Health opened its doors to a new pediatric specialty services center in San Francisco offering access to dedicated outpatient care for children and adolescents, centrally located and all in one place.
Located on the 7th floor of the new state-of-the-art medical office building at 1100 Van Ness Avenue across the street from the new Sutter Health Van Ness Campus hospital, Stanford Children’s Health Specialty Services – San Francisco houses 17 clinical subspecialties, including allergy, cardiology, eating disorders clinic, endocrinology, genetics, hematology, neurology, orthopedics, plastic surgery, sleep medicine and urology. A full list of services can be accessed at sfservices.stanfordchildrens.org.
The new clinical space gives patients access to Stanford’s physicians and expertise while remaining centrally located in San Francisco, with views of downtown and a convenient underground parking garage. The new center also includes a dedicated telehealth room, where physicians can host virtual visits with patients using a dedicated monitor and secure communication network. Telehealth technology is especially important in pediatrics to minimize interruptions to school, family and extracurricular activities that are critical to children’s growth and development. Stanford Children’s Health conducts hundreds of virtual visits annually.
Previously, Stanford Children’s Health specialty services were offered at the Sutter Health CPMC California Campus.
Stanford Children’s Health Specialty Services – San Francisco is one of 16 of the Bay Area specialty service centers that provide access to Stanford Children’s Health experts – Northern California’s largest health care enterprise for pediatrics and obstetrics.
Addressing a national shortage, Stanford Children’s Health has been continuously expanding access to pediatric specialists and subspecialists throughout the Bay Area. With its multi-specialty service centers, community hospital partnerships and primary care practices at more than 65 locations in Northern California, Stanford Children’s Health is accessible within 10 miles of most Bay Area family homes. It’s a model that reduces travel time and stress for families, and creates more availability for those needing appointments.
