I have always enjoyed being part of a team, and the Children's Heart Center is a fantastic one. Cardiac disease has no quick fix by a single practitioner: the parents, patient, primary care physician, cardiologist, and cardiothoracic surgeon all work as a team, to turn hope into reality. As medical director of the cardiology acute care ward, I help our patients and families make a smooth transition from being in the hospital to returning home.

I feel so fortunate to have a role in the diagnosis of heart problems and counseling of parents in a variety of settings including the clinic, the diagnostic echocardiography laboratory, and our inpatient ward. In every setting, we're able to get to know children and their families, which makes supporting their best outcome so rewarding.
