Dr. Hays grew up in Littleton, Colorado, before heading east to attend college at Dartmouth. As an undergraduate, he split his time between the library (where he studied biochemistry and molecular biology) and the pool (where he was captain of the men’s swimming and diving team). Dr. Hays was inducted into Dartmouth’s Athletic Hall of Fame for diving. After a stint in Boston doing cancer research, he returned to New Hampshire and the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, where he chose to pursue pediatrics. He joined Stanford Medicine Children’s Health — Pediatrics in 2014.
Dr. Li is a Bay Area native. She lived for two years in China, where she studied at Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Dr. Li returned to the United States, this time to the East Coast, where she graduated from the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell in Hempstead, New York. She came back to the Bay Area for her residency at Kaiser Permanente Oakland Medical Center. She joined Stanford Medicine Children’s Health — Pediatrics in 2021.
In her free time, she likes to hike, cook, and spend time with her children. She also is fluent in Mandarin.
Dr. Varamini is board certified in Pediatrics and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She received her medical degree from University of Bordeaux II in France and completed her pediatric residency at the University of Missouri Children’s Hospital. Dr. Varamini has been in practice since 1996. Before moving to the San Francisco Bay Area in 2000, Dr. Varamini was in private practice in Missouri, where she was a clinical associate professor at the University of Missouri. She also served on the Advisory Council for Genetic Services for the state of Missouri. Dr. Varamini joined Stanford Medicine Children’s Health — Pediatrics in 2014.
Nitasha Sharma was born and raised in the Bay Area. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of California, Berkeley, where she received a degree in integrative biology. Her background in pediatric clinical research and health education motivated her to pursue her career in advanced practice nursing to make a higher-level impact in the pediatric community. She went on to graduate from the University of California, San Francisco, as a pediatric nurse practitioner, board certified in Pediatric Primary Care. She is fluent in Punjabi and Hindi.
In her free time she enjoys hiking, playing field hockey, and spending time with her family, friends, and dog, Luna.
