Stanford Children’s is the first pediatric hospital in the world to employ the newest, most advanced robotic surgery system available, the da Vinci 5. We are actively researching to bring robotic surgery to more children nationwide, including partnering with the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) to pioneer robotic surgeries and push beyond what’s currently possible.  
• Offering highly precise surgeries that show improved outcomes. Because the da Vinci 5 gives our exceptionally skilled surgeons enhanced depth perception and the ability to visualize structures in 3-D, they can perform more complex and precise surgeries than ever before. This enhanced capability empowers surgeons to operate on more young babies, an option that was not previously available for some procedures. For many patients, robotic surgery can mean less pain, reduced trauma, shorter recovery time, and a quicker return to an active life.
• Applying robotic surgery across several specialties. We offer robotic surgery within our Pediatric Urology and Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology programs, with plans to expand robotic surgery to several specialties, including Ear, Nose, and Throat, Pediatric Heart Surgery, and Adolescent Bariatric Surgery.
