Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford charges for our role in the delivery of anesthesia items and services when inpatients receive general anesthesia gas services in our service rooms.
Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford is a hospital and we charge for items and services that we provide to patients in our hospital. The specific resources we provide vary in each case. We supply the anesthesia gas, equipment, supplies, and staff necessary to effectively deliver anesthesia gas to our patients. These are included in our Anesthesia Gas Service charges. We may also supply drugs and non-routine supplies for which there may be separate charges. Our charges are greater than our actual costs.
Your anesthesiologist will bill separately for his or her professional services, as will your surgeon and the other physicians who provide care to patients in the hospital.
When inpatients receive general anesthesia gas in our service rooms, we charge as follows:
This approach takes into account that, in general, patients who are in the service room longer require more anesthesia resources.
