The Substance Use Treatment Clinic at Stanford Medicine Children’s Health provides a family-focused, evidence-based approach to empowering teens and young adults to overcome substance use and embrace a healthier, more purposeful life. Our care includes leading-edge medicines and partnering with other adolescent services to compound success.
The clinic is made up of adolescent medicine doctors and social workers who specialize in substance use. We serve preteens, teens, and young adults to age 26, and their families.
Why choose us for substance use care?
- We combine mental health support with medical care for double the healing power. Our dual approach of medical care and family-focused support is not commonly offered in the United States, except at large children’s hospitals.
- We follow the Community Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT) model to support teens and families. This evidence-based care model, endorsed by several top organizations including the American Psychological Association, takes an innovative, fresh approach to motivate teens and young adults to own their substance use and take positive actions, while supporting families to create an empowering environment through constructive communication, motivation, and positive reinforcement.
- We offer treatment for a wide range of substances. The illicit drug market shifts quickly, and we stay on top of the latest trends to provide the best care. We care for teens and young adults with all types of substance use disorders.
- We provide holistic care within a comprehensive suite of adolescent services. We address all of your teen’s and young adult’s needs in one place by partnering with other related programs as needed, including general health, reproductive health, eating disorders, gender issues, weight concerns, and mental health.
