Clinical Associate Professor
Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Specialist
Pediatric ophthalmology focuses on prevention and treatment of eye conditions so that children may hopefully enjoy the ability to see for the rest of their life. Vision is underappreciated until it deteriorates for one reason or another. In my work I focus not just on improving the quality of life for the pediatric patient but also for the adult they will become. I chose this field because it is a specialty in which I take into account not just the eyes, but the entire person and their experience in the world.
I also treat strabismus in adults who have misaligned eyes and may suffer from double vision or lack of self confidence with eye contact. Patients are so grateful when we are able to help them with this condition. When patients are satisfied with their care, we as physicians find our work meaningful and extremely rewarding.
